Board Director receives ‘unsung heroes’ award
Congratulations to Liz Roberts, Board Secretary, on receiving the 2017 Senate of Canada Sesquicentennial Medal. This award honours unsung heroes who’ve made meaningful contributions to Canada. The Medal recognizes her work helping to empower indigenous and non-indigenous communities in finding their voice and in seeking a desired and sustainable future. Liz is currently a volunteer director for the Brandon Regional Health Foundation and Twelve Canada.
“We’re proud of Liz and her dedication to making a difference in our community through her many roles as a volunteer,” says Jim Abernethy, Board Chair. “She’s modest about her accomplishments, but no one could be more deserving of this award.”
