Meet Your Candidates

If you are a member of District 3 (Killarney/Ninette/Cartwright/Swan Lake/Pilot Mound/La Riviere/Winnipeg), please exercise your democratic right to vote in this election. You can vote at a kiosk in branch, or online through a link on our website.

The Board of Directors of Westoba Credit Union Ltd. recognizes that a strong Board will be comprised of Directors possessing an ideal combination of skills, experience and attributes. This year the Board is looking for candidates with strong information technology, audit and risk, human resources and accounting experience.

There is one opening in District 3 this year. District 3 members can vote for one candidate.  This candidate will serve a three-year term. The director will be elected prior to the Annual General Meeting. The elected director will be announced here at westoba.com in late April. Below are the names and biographies of your candidates.

George E. Henderson

Endorsed*

George was raised on a family farm north of La Rivière, Manitoba.  He married his wife Lorette in 1962. Together, they operated the family farm for 45 years before retiring and transitioning the farm to their son Denis and his wife Heather, who are fifth generation farmers.

In 1973, he completed his Diploma in Agriculture.  In 1980, he was elected to the Manitoba Canola Growers Association and served as Director for 10 years.  In 1988, he was appointed to the Motor Transport Board by the provincial government and served there for 12 years. George was elected to the R.M. of Pembina council in 1996 and served as Councillor and Reeve for 11 years.  In 1990, he became an articling qualified appraiser.

George has been involved in many community and farm groups. George is currently completing his first three-year term on Westoba’s Board of Directors where he also held committee member roles on the Policy and Governance Committee. He is seeking re-election to continue bringing value to our members by helping guide Westoba through changes required to remain strong and sustainable.
