ABOUT OUR SPEAKER JOHN C. STEWART

Born in 1958, John grew up in rural Manitoba and received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba in 1980, followed by a law degree in 1992.

John began his farming operation at Poplar Point, Manitoba in 1980 while commuting to oil and gas exploration rigs in the Canadian Arctic and offshore in South America. John returned to Manitoba and began a consulting practice that assisted agricultural businesses experiencing financial difficulty. After attaining his L.L.B., John established himself in practice focusing primarily on agricultural corporate and commercial transactions, financing, real estate and commercial re-organizations.

FARM TRANSITIONS

Planning makes perfect! Each year farm operations across the province transition from one person, group or entity to another. Each provides a distinctive set of circumstances, unique to that family, the land and the farm operation. If you’re a retiring farmer or a farmer who isn’t yet ready to retire, a spouse, a child or heir to the farm, a non-farmer owner of land or their spouse or heirs; you have a stake in the process of transitioning a farm into new hands.

Whatever your circumstance, join us at Ag Days on Thursday, January 24 in Q Country Hall where Westoba will have Ag lenders, financial planners and Agrologists on hand to answer all your financial questions.
