Douglas Wanyoike sits on Westoba’s Information Technology Committee, as well as the Governance Committee.

Douglas is a Canadian citizen, born and raised in Kenya. He moved to the United States of America in 1998 and later to Canada in 2009. He’s married and blessed with two beautiful daughters and a son.

He’s currently employed by Paradigm Consulting Group Inc. as a Business Systems Analyst. He’s implementing a Guideware Strategic Systems Renewal project for a major insurance company in Winnipeg. Douglas’s professional work experience in Healthcare, Insurance, and Social Media Advertising dealing with on-premise, SAAS and PAAS environments has prepared him for this opportunity. He was responsible for implementing several federally and provincially mandated eHealth initiatives at the Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Center (MHCCAC). He developed business cases, implemented projects, trained and supported over thirty service providers.

He founded and operated a telecom company in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which enabled customers to make affordable local, domestic and international calls online using voice over internet protocol (VOIP). He also negotiated, purchased and configured routes with various telecom carriers, processed payments and reconciled bank payments with sales.

His friends and family describe him as a proactive, innovative, and dependable team leader with great interpersonal skills. Douglas is a highly motivated, focused and dedicated professional with extensive work experience in resolving problems through the use of people, processes and technology.

His passion for cyber and information security has led him to pursue certifications in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCIP) and Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX). He also has certifications in Project Management, Change Management, Information Technology Infrastructure Library and Lean Six Sigma. Douglas is currently a graduate student at the University of Winnipeg working on his Masters in Management, specializing in Technology, Innovation and Operations.
